Worship in an Evangelical Church, Lakewood Church.
No disrespect intended, I chose this photo
for this article just as an example of large production worship.
I have read several stories this month of Christian’s, mostly those in the spotlight of music and worship losing faith and withdrawing away from the Christian life. I have to admit that sadly this is what happens when people get too wrapped up in the Business and “Show Business” of ministry. When you are involved in the production and promotion of turning up the volume in a manner of speaking it is really easy to find yourself drawn away from the core of Christianity and the overall power of God’s wisdom.
I can say this because I was once one of them. I became so disillusioned and had lost sight of God’s overall Providence, that when true tests of my faith were laid before me I yelled at God for them and remained angry at him for well over 20 years.
The Almighty Father through Jesus and the Holy Spirit though did not turn on me. He came and called me back when the time was right. I am a firm believer that part of the greater plan is to fall down and scrape our knees once in a while. After all, no one is perfect. We are all sinners. An old saying I’ve heard is:
But for those who have wandered, their Brother’s and Sister’s in Christ should proceed gently.
Romans 14:1 NLT Says:
Yes, it is our job to look out for the best interest of those around us, but it is the Lord’s job to give them the push in the right direction.
Romans 14:4 NLT Says:
Who are you to condemn God’s Servants? They are responsible to the Lord, so let him them whether they are right or wrong. The Lord’s power will help them do as they should.
So don’t be critical on those who may be resistant or struggling when it comes to having a relationship with God. This may be all a part of the Lord’s overall plan. If you had told me 10 years ago that I would be walking a path into being a minister and working every day to start up a Christian Ministry Organization I would have laughed right in your face and swore the earth would burst into flames if I tried.
I am a much stronger person now as the result of my struggle, and the hard lessons of life I learned along the way. The Lord works in mysterious ways, and we are not always meant to understand how or even why. This is where we count on faith, even the smallest bit of faith is enough sometimes.
